After a long absence I have returned. Here is a few things going on in 8-O.
District Governor Lion Ken Marks is working to charter a few new clubs in the area. Two of the areas we are targeting are Mamou and the Delcambre/Erath area. Anyone interested in joining a club in these areas you can leave a message with how to contact you in the comments section below and write "private" in it. I have to review all comments before they will post, I won't post your information, when I see "private", I will pass on your information to Lion Ken.
Because you were a Star District in 2005-2006, I was allowed to present five diamond pins to deserving 8-O members. I could have passed out a dozen or more, 8-O worked so hard during my year as governor. The pins were awarded to:

Camp Work Weekend wil be held the third weekend of March at Louisiana Lions Camp in Leesville. All Lions and their families are invited to participate.
Congrats to to Lion Rene Broussard of Port Barre Lions and Lion Norma Lee Dugal of the Opelousas Lions on their Melvin Jones Fellowships.
If you haven't gotten your state convention registrations in, please register as soon as possible. Also we will accept ads for the convention brochure through April 1st. I will be posting information on the Golf Tournament in the next few days.
Lions Camp Alumni Golf Tournament has moved to Indian Hills Country Club in Opelousas and will be May 21st.
District Cabinet Meeting will be March 10th in Port Barre.
