There will be an emergency district cabinet meeting on Thursday, September 8, 7:00 pm, at Lion Norma Lee Dugal's house, 4261 HWY 182, Opelousas. If possible I would like at least one member from each club to attend and also any PDGs. I will email directions and a map tomorrow.
The District 8-O Convention in November is postponed until spring. The facility we had rented is being used as a shelter, also many of the key Lions helping me are involved in disaster relief. We will have a regular cabinet meeting sometimes around the November date.
I have recieved word of a number of clubs who have cooked or will be cooking in shelters. Please email information on what your club is doing to assist the disater relief. We will eventually set up a reporting system, but I need to find out what clubs are doing.
